Purchased a Squushed lampshade at RDS Gifted, never thought I would love a lampshade more! Worth the purchase for Christmas.

This was my 2nd leather working workshop with Amanda (previously made the eyeglasses case, which I love!) and she once again created a welcoming environment. Amanda is a natural teacher; she takes the time to walk you through all the tools, their function and supervises while you get 'making' but always available for advice or to step in on a tricky step. I love her workshops and really recommend them!

I took the lampshade-making class at Squushed, and I couldn’t recommend it more! Amanda, was incredibly calm, patient, and clear in her instructions. Even as a complete beginner, I felt confident throughout the process and left with a brand-new skill—I can now make lampshades on my own!

The venue itself is cozy and welcoming. I’ve done a few courses there already, and each one has been a great experience. For the lampshade class specifically, I especially loved the wide selection of beautiful handmade papers Amanda provided. There were so many gorgeous patterns to choose from, making it easy to create something unique that fits perfectly in your home.

If you’re looking for a creative, hands-on workshop in a warm and inspiring setting, I can’t recommend this course enough. I left feeling proud of what I made and excited to try more projects.

What a great workshop! Exactly what I was looking for. I wanted to know the process of how to make a hardbacked book and never thought i would come away with such a treasure. You choose all the materials for your book - the paper for mine is made from actual kiwis!! Thanks so much to Amanda, a brilliant craft instructor. I would highly recommend this workshop to anyone who has an interest in the fascinating craft of bookmaking.

We had the best time learning how to make leather flower key rings. It was the perfect activity for my mums birthday! Really enjoyable ❤️ 10/10

I recently attended a Lampshade Workshop and what an amazing experience from start to finish. Everything was on hand to create a beautiful Lampshade with the help of Amanda who was very informative on her craft and a great facilitator. As part of our 2025 local culture festival in Donabate Portrane north county Dublin, Amanda ran two workshops for us - chain stitch notebook making and lampshade making. Everything was provided and the workshops were very well recieved by all participants. The workshops were wonderfully relaxed, friendly, and enjoyable. Everything we needed was thoughtfully prepared and ready to use. Her deep knowledge of both crafts shone through - not only did she explain each step clearly, but she also shared other hints and tips . Both workshops were fantastic experiences from start to finish. Participants went home with beautifully self-crafted pieces and were delighted to have learned a new skill.
From the perspective of a festival organiser; Amanda was very professional and a pleasure to deal with. I would have no hesitation in providing a recommendation for Amanda and her workshops. We will definitley welcome her to Donabate Portrane again!
