Details

Kit contains the following materials:

  • Text block paper: Used for the intenal pages of the book. Choose a variant to see the specifics of a particular kit
  • Greyboard: Used for the cover structure
  • Decorative paper for outside: Used for covering the outside of the greyboard. Choose a variant to see the specifics of a particular kit
  • Decorative paper for inside: Used for covering the inside of the greyboard. Choose a variant to see the specifics of a particular kit
  • Waxed linen thread
  • MC: Methyl Callulose paste. A weak adhesive with a long open time. Used for paper that might winkle, or to allow a bit of movement after glueing
  • PVA: Bookbinding glue. A strong adhesive with a short opening time. Used for materials that need a good bond. There isn't much room for movement after gluing, so the material needs to be placed correctly on the first attempt
  • Mix: A 60%:40% mix of PVA to MC. The best of both worlds. Weaker than PVA, but stronger than MC. Has a bit of wiggle room after gluing
  • Parchment paper: Used for glueing. Place your item to be glued on top of the parchment paper, and glue from the centre out, going beyond the edge of the material onto the parchment paper. This ensures full coverage of glue on the item
  • Waste card: Used for moking a template for punching stitch holes
  • Guide: Detailed and illustrated guide with step by step instructions
Note

This kit does not include the tools needed for bookbinding. Check out our Bookbinding Tools Kit if you need to get started with some tools.
