Daffodils
The Daffodils is an original illustration in our botantical series.
Daffodils, or narcissus, have a central trumpet surrounded by petals. In Irish mythology, the daffodil was associated with the goddess Brigid. Brigid is sometimes depicted carrying daffodils, which she used to bring about the rebirth of nature after the long, dark winter.
The Irish for daffodil is lus an chromchinn, herb of the bowed head.
